This is same problem I'm having with two 3c905C cards in two different
machines, one a Dell and the other an IBM. Both are fresh out of the box.
Looking through the archives of this list, I see someone else had some
similar problems. Transmits occur at decent speed, receives I get a
very small throughput. (I have a custom Linux install that usually takes
twenty minutes ... I started it last night at 9pm and it's almost finished -
I'm also getting plenty of "nfs server not responding" then "nfs server OK."
messages)
Both of these machines are on different networks. One is connected at my
office, one at the client site.
Does anybody have the slightest clue as to the cause of this problem? I'm
not the greatest driver hacker (okay, I'm not really a driver hacker), but
if someone cares to point me in the right direction, I might be able to figure
it out. The only thing I know so far is that the driver seems completely
oblivious to the fact it's dropping packets. I've set debug=6 and the only
messages I get don't seem to be any problems (same messages as in previous
message).
