[tulip] ZYNX 4-port (21143) fails to autonegotiate correctly. (tulip: 0.9.14, RH
7.1)

My fight with my ZYNX 4-port (ZX346) NIC continues this evening...
I have two machines, one (lf4) has the ZYNX, and two eepro100s, the other
machine (lf1) has 3 eepro100s. Both machines also have a VIA-RHINE on
the motherboard.
The eepro100's run beautifully...but the ZYNX seems pretty damn sorry.
The 4th port of the ZYNX (eth4) is connected to the third eepro (eth3)
on lf1. The ZYNX seems to be claiming that it can do, and has done autonegotiation,
but the eepro sees it as fixed at 100bt.
The end result is JABBER being seen by the eepro, and lots of CARRIER
errors reported by the tulip. I'm dropping around 5% of the packets when
running random packet size at 512Kbps....
Here is some info gathered from the machine running the ZYNX board.
This first part seems to show the error: The tulip thinks it has
completed autonegotiation, and that it is advertising lots of things,
but the eepro does not agree. Information from the other machine is
farther down...
I'll be happy to test any ideas you have for patching this thing up to
work on the 2.4 kernel series. I'm trying right now to get the Alan Cox's
latest kernel patch to compile, which has some tulip updates by Jeff Garzik..
Let me know if there is more information that I can produce to help you...
Thanks,
Ben
