Are you sure that you used the "-w" option (which is mentioned on the web 
page) ? By default vortex-diag does not touch the EEPROM content, it only 
prints what it thinks the differences are.

Can you just send me the output from "vortex-diag -ee" ?

I ran it on 3c905C (normal PCI card).
