[vortex] 3C575-TX and RedHat 7.1

After installing RedHat 7.1 on my laptop, my 3Com (3C575-TX) ethernet card
stopped working.  I have set the kernel module to 3c59x in linuxconf, but
when I try to start the network, I get the following error in
/var/log/messages:

eth0: command 0x5800 did not complete! Status=0xffff
eth0: command 0x2800 did not complete! Status=0xffff
