What do you mean by 'is not detected' ?
Did you configure eth0 to use the 3c59x module ? If so, you should have a
line like 'alias eth0 3c59x' in your /etc/conf.modules or /etc/modules.conf
file. If you don't have this line, you should use a configuration program
(like 'linuxconf' which is present in many Linux distributions) to
configure your networking.
