Hello,
I have a problem with the 3c59x driver written by you in the 2.4.0 final
kernel.
When in do modprobe 3c59x it say that all is ok and tell me the MAC
address and that the IRQ is also used by other device (my UHCI USB
controller).
And when i try an ifconfig eth0 10.0.0.246 netmask ..... I got two
message that tell me that a command coul'nt be completed and return me
two error message. And of course i can't access network.
I've tried many option and try to find something interesting with
vortex-diag and mii-diag but the only thing i found out is just before
the ifconfig, mii diag tell the link is ok and active, after the
ifconfig, it tell me that link is down ... if i do an ifdown, it tell me
that the link has been broken and is now ok ...
I've tried with two different network card (same model) and with 3
version of kenrel (2.4 final 2.4 test 6 and 2.4 test 10) and it doesn't
work (but the card is ok since it work under a 2.2 kernel or Windows)
My exact config :
3Com 3C905CX TX-M WOL
Linux kernel 2.4.0 on RedHat 7
Asus A7V Mother board with TBird Athlon
If you want additionnal data, like log og dmesg or exact debug info from
the module or output of diag prog, just ask.
In the hope that you have enough time to have a look on my problem
Tanx,
Munaut Sylvain
