Hi everyone,

I have a stupid problem. I picked up the 3c59x-driver (beginning
from 2.2.17 upto the
integrated one in the kernel 2.4.1). The installation of this
driver is no problem at all!
I get NO apparent error messages. The machine is a ThinkPad T21
bought in Dec. 2000.

My problem now is that using this driver is only possible in
parts if
I additionally let a Cardbus-Tulip card running at the same
time. Without the
additional card tcpdump only gives back one received packet,
sometimes two.
With the other card working most of the packets are received but
not all!

ifconfig tells the following:
eth1      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:00:86:4B:36:8D
          inet addr:129.26.14.110  Bcast:129.26.63.255
Mask:255.255.192.0
          inet6 addr: fe80::864b:368d/10 Scope:Link
          inet6 addr: fe80::200:86ff:fe4b:368d/10 Scope:Link
          UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:3355 errors:9 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:9
          TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0

It seems the driver is not able to interrupt the processor for
new packets received!

Is there anyone who can tell me how to deal with this problem?
(I have to give the
PCMCIA-card back). I tried all available drivers, several
kernels from 2.2.16 upto 2.4.1
with always the same result.

Thanks a lot

Uwe
