SIOCSIFADDR

Hi, 
I'm new in linux box and I tried to install a 3C900 card into my box .
I download the driver 3c90x.c, compile it and link it with the new
kernel (Suse Linux, kernel 2.0.33). I reboot my box and I have the
message at startup
SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
SIOCSIFBRDADDR: No such device
SIOCSIFNETMASK: No such device
What have I made wrong ?

If somebody has a solution !
