etc. up to crash.
Have these here from 2.1.98-2.1.117, on a Gigabyte 686DLX, 2xPii 266,
128 Mb RAM, on-board aic7xxx, with 3c905B, dec-21140AF, and rtl8139 (although
only the 3c gives such explicit error messages).
Symptom: heavy netload (a few minutes of tcpspray on a cross-cable 10Mb TP)
connection result in the above message, followed by a crashed card, or 
(in 2.1.115&117) a total crash of the machine, where even the Magic SysRq
does nothing.
I don't have the output from /proc/ handy, but I do not have an IRQ conflict.

I tried this too, and it helped: no such crash without SMP enabled...
