The recent drivers are reported to work with 2.4, however I do not test
with 2.4.
There are unresolved issue with the 2.4 'modversion' settings and
multi-architecture support, but if the driver compiles on 2.4 it should
run.

I've been making changes to the drivers and kern_compat.h over time.
There was an exchange on either the Tulip or Tulip-bug list about this
about two weeks ago.
Note that the driver will work, but it's not properly ported to 2.4.
