Fix for "No MII traceiver found!"?

Yeah, but my thoughts about the problem are that if the tulip driver
"broke" it, there should be a way to fix it. I don't want to return cards
that aren't really defective. That just ends up artificially increasing
prices for the rest of us....
If anyone has a solution, I'd love to hear it.
