There are several problems with similar symptoms.

I think your solution fixes the generic, non-driver-specific, window/ACK bug
in 2.2.10-2.2.12.  (BTW, that is now acknowledged to be a protocol layer
bug, not a driver bug that suddenly manifested itself all drivers at once.
It has nothing to do with dev->tbusy handling.)

I'll have to try this the next time the ping-is-delayed bug hits.
