Hello Realtek developers!

I read on the list, that others have the same problems as I have with the realtek cards. I write because I found a possible workaround:
If the driver+card goes weird, ping -s 8192 hostname helps (i tried this
several times), here is an example:

karpati@bolyai ~ % ping kalmar
PING kalmar (157.181.14.12): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 157.181.14.12: icmp_seq=0 ttl=64 time=416.1 ms
64 bytes from 157.181.14.12: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.4 ms
64 bytes from 157.181.14.12: icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=0.4 ms
64 bytes from 157.181.14.12: icmp_seq=4 ttl=64 time=0.4 ms
64 bytes from 157.181.14.12: icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=1001.4 ms

--- kalmar ping statistics ---
5 packets transmitted, 5 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 0.4/283.7/1001.4 ms
karpati@bolyai ~ % ping -s 8192 kalmar
PING kalmar (157.181.14.12): 8192 data bytes

And on the other machine:

lab1 /contrib/rdist # ping -s 8192 lab2
PING lab2 (157.181.14.52): 8192 data bytes
8200 bytes from 157.181.14.52: icmp_seq=0 ttl=64 time=4035.3 ms

8200 bytes from 157.181.14.52: icmp_seq=10 ttl=64 time=16.0 ms

This may help you, maybe.

Bye,
