[realtek-bug] The rtl8139.c:v1.15 8/1/2001 driver is still "locking up"

  The rtl8139 driver is still locking up under heavy loads.  I am
running a Slackware 8.0 (Linux 2.2.19) with the rtl8139 driver
updated to 1.15 (and the other required files).  The specific
configuration involved is 1.3 GHz AMD system reading from an NFS
drive and storing data onto a Seagate SCSI DAT drive.  After a short
while the backup processing reports errors accessing files.  Doing
an ifconfig up/down allows the interface to continue to work.

  I have duplicated the problem twice and am willing to test any
changes.
