Hi,
I have used the Versions v1.08, v1.13 and v1.15
and can say, that the stability increases with the Version Number!
But with my new Asus Board A7V266 and ide Software Raid
I still have problems if I copy large files.
The source is a A7V with AT 2500 Rev. 10 NIC, Kernel 2.2.16
the destination a A7V266 with AT 2500 Rev. 10 NIC, Kernel 2.2.19.
Both are connected via HP Procure 2300 Switch, both cards are
working with FD.
It seems that all Versions of the driver have in general the same
Problem, its allways the destination machine (the reading machine)
which have the problems.
Symptoms: The network link breaks down and because I use NIS, I
can't do anything but switch the machine off. The machine itself
seems to work, because there are Kernel messages, that the nfs server
of the source are no longer reachable.
There are no messages from the rtl8139 driver.
With this Configuration I can copy the following amount of data:
1.08 not tried yet.
1.13 2 GB
1.15 5 GB
Because I have to copy about 50-100 GB, for me the card is unusable.
It seems, that as faster the connection is, as bigger the problems.
Any ideas, suggestions?
Regards
Harald
