Is KLAT2 really a "Beowulf?"

Yes. Every hardware component is an unmodified commodity subsystem,
available from multiple vendors. Although KLAT2 runs MPI applications
unmodified, some
of our system software is odd (but also free). For information on other
"Beowulfs" see http://www.beowulf.org/,
http://www.beowulf-underground.org/, and the Parallel Processing HOWTO. For
an answer to "What's a Beowulf?" see the first entry in the Beowulf
FAQ.
