Although a standards committee might come in handy for the systems 
themselves, (minimally, standards could be set for communications between 
distributive systems), I don't think regulating source code, at this time, is 
a reasonable option.  Distributive applications are infants; they need time 
to grow and encourage additional application development.  

Beowulf is a tremendously promising technology.  It need not be given the 
UNIX BSD path to follow. The proven way to have excellent, quickly-cycled, 
software development is by allowing non regulated open source.  

I concur, however, that a comprehensive repository need be developed.
