Hi!
We'd like to build GbE testbed running Linux Kernel 2.2.x (17) , what card
(PCI64/66) would you recommend? We are looking for the hardware with the
best-developed linux driver.
There are several options of Gigabit Ethernet adapter in your homepage.
and in the Linux kernel configuration help file. They are
1. Packet Engine Hamachi GNIC-II (I just heard that Packet Engine GNIC-II is
disconnected, right?)
2. Alteon AceNIC
3. SysKonnect: Various models -LX, -SX, -T cards.
4. Intel PRO/1000 T (copper)

I too had a slight problem with the Symbios chip. I have a patch (attached below)
for the 1.02 driver distributed with kernel 2.2.14 that fixes it. Probably not the
best way to fix it, but it works for me. It's only for the symbios chip though.
I think the patch will break the driver for other manufacturer's chips.
I don't have a patch for the 1.04 driver (sorry), but if you give me a few days I might
be able to come up with one
