Odd packet sizes not working on Yellowfin v1.02 driver

What's the reason for the code (line 1114 of Yellowfin.c v1.02):

			int pkt_len = data_size -
				(yp->chip_id ? 7 : 8 + buf_addr[data_size - 8]);


I'm told that this calculation fails for rec'd odd packet sizes like
1007, 1005, for a few examples.
