Linux beyond 2.4.13 does something in the initialisation of the pci
southbridge that disables wake-on-lan (or any other wake-event).

Google for 'Linux 2.4 /proc/acpi/gpe' for discussion.

A patch is on:

but reconstructing the patch from html is probably hard.
