i have read that page. the irq is assigned by the bios, right? then why does 
it work in windoze, but not in linux? at boot time, the bios says it has 
identified a network interface, and assigned it irq 11. still, vortex-diag
says the nic has no irq. there's plenty of unassigned irq:s, since i have 
only 3 add-on cards installed in the computer.
