[vortex] Linux 2.4.9, WOL and 3c905c-tx doesn't work

I can not get the driver in 2.4.9 to work with wake-on-lan, and trying to
use the latest one gives the following error when i try to install it
(pci-probe debug level set to 7):

> insmod 3c59x.o
init_module: No such device

and the log says:

kernel: 3c59x.c:v0.99U 7/30/2001 Donald Becker, becker@scyld.com
kernel:   http://www.scyld.com/network/vortex.html
kernel: Failed to map PCI address 0xe800 for device '3c905C Tornado'.

Does anybody know the right way to get this combination to work?
