Paul,

do what Fred said :)

Get your kernel building as per standard RedHat procedures and then
overwrite the existing 3c59x.c and then rebuild.

I think you can do this by installing the kernel source RPM with

	rpm -i foo.src.rpm
	rpm -bp /usr/src/RPM/SPECS/foo.spec
	rpm -bc /usr/src/RPM/SPECS/foo.spec
	
But my rpm usage is rusty.
