hi,
i'm running crazy on a strange things happening in my home lan:
we all running Linux (mine is kernel 2.4.18) connected through bnc
and HUB .
i have two computer (say A and B ) connected to the hub through rj-45 cable and a bnc (UTP
cable) that goes to another guy on to another room (say C computer ).
my machine ha a 3com etherlink XL pci 10/100, obviously i'm using it only
at 10 Mbits (because of UTP connection ) .
if i cp (thorugh http, scp or nfs) large files between the two pc on the hub (
A and B ) the other guys ( on C ) can't connect to me and all his connection are "frozen" until i finish to cp files.
but if he tries to cp files from one of my two pc ( e.g. C <- A or C <- B ) the
network has no problem .
so the problem seem to happen only if i'm downloading from the machine with
the 3com Etherlink XL card .
i tried different option on the module driver (using full_duplex=1 and
full_duplex=0 ) just to see if it was an "configuration problem"
but it's always the same .
i also insmod it with debug=10 ( if u want i can attach here the log of the 2
situation described below ) but i didn't notice difference in the two cases.
what can it be ?
how to solve ?
thanks in advance
Samuele
p.s. pls cc me any reply 'cause i'm not on the list
