3Com 3CCFEM656B modem port not being seen -- ideas ?

This includes a Winmodem, not a standard modem. AFAIK, there's no way to
get a Winmodem working under Linux.

Sorry. :(

Subject: 3Com 3CCFEM656B modem port not being seen -- ideas ?

[[ I'm not on the list, so please include me explicitly in the reply list ]]

I've just got a
3Com Megahertz Global 10/100 LAN+56K Modem CardBus PC Card Model
3CCFEM656B
assuming it to be similar to our existing PC Cards,
3Com Megahertz Global 10/100 LAN+56K Modem PC Card Model
3CCFEM557B
but under RedHat 6.2beta (Linux 2.2.15-2.5.0, cardmgr 3.1.8)
/etc/pcmcia/config has an entry:

	card "3Com 3CCFEM656B w/Winmodem"
	  manfid 0x0102, 0x6562
	  bind "3c575_cb"

so that it doesn't set up the modem. e.g.

If I try to HACK it by changing the line to:

	    bind "3c575_cb" to 0, "serial_cb" to 1

not only is the modem not set up, but the ethernet doesn't work either:

Any ideas how to get both working ?
