where is k_compat.h?

I have a 3C905B-TX-NM in a 733 Mhz Pentium III. Even with both the
NIC and the connected switch configured for 100BaseTX and full
duplex (to eliminate the possibility of auto-negotiate problems) the
connection slows to a creep then stalls in moderately heavy
traffic. This is using 3c59x.c 0.99L. (3c90x.c version E from 3Com
doesn't work at all.)

This line of output from ifconfig:

RX packets:6256 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0

will show from 1 to a few hundred overruns, and occasionally one "error"
and/or one "frame" following a hang. I find references to problems
similar to mine in the archives, but I don't find a definitive
solution. Is there one?

I wanted to try the experimental version 0.99N of 3c59x.c but it
includes k_compat.h and pci-netif.h. I found a pci-netif.h in

ftp://cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov/pub/linux/drivers/test/

along with the 3c59x.c, but I see no k_compat.h anywhere nearby. Can
someone point me to k_compat.h?

Thanks,
Paul
