This isn't a problem with your ethernet card. The problem, instead, is with
the numbers you are trying to use. Your netmask (255.255.255.0), gateway
(151.198.16.1) and ip address (151.198.17.208) don't match up, so the
"Network is unreachable" message is proper behavior. Those numbers won't
work with windows95/NT either, so you should check them against the sheet
you got from Bell Atlantic during the installation.
This list is intended for issues relating specifically to a particular
ethernet card driver. In the future if you're looking for an answer like
this, try using Usenet news; one good place to do that is www.deja.com.
Another way is to contact your local Linux User Group (LUG); they probably
have a mailing list intended for general questions, and the folks in your
local LUG will certainly know how to get Bell Atlantic's DSL offering
working happily with Linux.
