I just finished setting up a new Gateway computer with a 3c905C card.  The
RedHat 6.1 kernel, which has a modified version of 0.99H to support the
3c905C, did not work well with it.  NFS connections would eventually hang
with many messages such as:

Nov  2 09:20:20 tango kernel: nfs: task 9982 can't get a request slot 

and messages such as the following seem to pop up every few minutes:

eth0: Transmit error, Tx status register 82.


I tried 0.99L (5/28/99) and it did the same thing!

The new driver from 3Com seems to be working great (it even seemed like
Netscape was popping up web sites much faster than I'm used to).

Could this be a new revision of the 3c905C that needs further tweaking in
the driver?
