I just thought this might be interesting to people reading this
list..
I just got my new SONY VAIO 818 laptop (300 Mhz P-II, 64 Mb) and
decided to go with a 3c575 cardbus 10/100 ethernet card.
I got the latest PCMCIA package and it works like a dream!
The PCMCIA/Cardbus chipset is supported properly:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Linux PCMCIA Card Services 3.0.7
kernel build: 2.0.36 #1 Mon Jan 25 14:04:53 CET 1999
options: [pci] [cardbus] [apm]
Intel PCIC probe:
Ricoh RL5C478 PCI-to-CardBus at bus 0 slot 10, mem 0x68000000, 2 sockets
host opts [0]: [isa irq] [io 3/6/1] [mem 3/6/1] [no pci irq] [lat 168/176] [
bus 32/34]
host opts [1]: [isa irq] [io 3/6/1] [mem 3/6/1] [no pci irq] [lat 168/176] [
bus 35/37]
ISA irqs (default) = 3,4,5,7,9,10,11,12 polling interval = 1000 ms
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And the 3c575 (with 0.99H release) works fine as well. Haven't tried
100 Mbit yet though..

Enabling bus-master transmits and whole-frame receives.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Repeatedly removing and inserting the card sometimes breaks down,
but I guess that's just because of the experimental nature of
CardBus support in the PCMCIA package which breaks down somewhere.
Just lettin 'yall know..
Bye Arno.
