Hi,
I am having some problems with a 3c905B in a 2.0.34 box. A little
background info: This particular system had a 509B for about 8 months before
I decided to upgrade to a 905B, more for the PCI interface than the 100BaseT.
The transition went fairly smoothly and the system was switched to an auto-
sensing 10/100 half/full duplex port on a switch. The system booted and choose
100Mb, Full Duplex. When I was moving the machine back into place, I accidently
knocked the cable out. When I reconnected (w/o rebooting--never been a problem
in the past) the card switched to half duplex. I tried forcing the port over
to full duplex on the switch, but then started getting the following errors:
eth0: Transmit error, Tx status register 82.
OK, so its not liking forced full duplex, so I turn that off and the Transmit
errors stop. But now, I get the following errors which I have never seen before
on any system (I have about 8 running 905B's):
Apr 3 23:05:29 inetsolve kernel: TCP: **bug**: copy=0, sk->mss=0
Apr 3 23:05:29 inetsolve kernel: TCP: **bug**: copy=0, sk->mss=0
Apr 3 23:05:29 inetsolve kernel: TCP: **bug**: copy=0, sk->mss=0
Apr 3 23:05:29 inetsolve kernel: tcp_new_window: mss fell to 0.
Apr 3 23:05:59 inetsolve last message repeated 3 times
Does anyone have any idea of what this may be? The system seems to be performing
normally, although users are complaining of a bit of 'sluggishness' here and there.
I am trying not to think that this is related as the users complain about everything
real or imagined.
Thanks
