3c905b & X, IRQ/Video conflict

Hello,

Last night I found the time to try peoples suggestions dealing with X and
3c509b driver lockups. That is the problem. Both my video card (AGP
Diamond Viper 330 based on the Riva 128) and the network card are sharing
the same IRQ (11).

As far as changing the BIOS. If I disable the assign IRQ to video card
then the video card does not function properly. If I tell the BIOS that
IRQ 11 is reserved then BOTH the video and network card switch to IRQ 10.
I checked and didn't have any available IRQs left, things had to share.
So I disabled one of my com ports and my usb port. This freed up an IRQ
but the 3c509b and video card always seem to want to stay together even
though IRQs are now open.

The 3COM web site states that the IRQ assigned to that PCI slot must be
changed in the BIOS, but my ABIT BX6 motherboard doesn't appear to have
this option. Their only other advise was to swap pci cards around in
their slot to possibly get the card use a different IRQ. Before I tear my
machine down and play musical PCI slots I thought I'd ask if anyone knew
of a way to force the 3c905b to use a different IRQ.

Thanks!
