Hello,
Recently, I have downloaded the netdrivers.tgz package on my Mandrake 8.2 linux box (2.4.18 kernel)
The 'make' step was successfull. But the 'make install' was not!
The goal of all this is to make my DLink DFE 570TX 4 NICs working (tulip 21143 chip).
When I have run the 'make install' step, here is the screen output :
Makefile:46: No kernel version has been specified.
Assuming 2.4.18-6mdk.
Set the KERNVER variable to specify a different kernel."
mkdir -p /lib/modules/2.4.18-6mdk/kernel/drivers//net/
install -m 444 pci-scan.o 3c59x.o eepro100.o epic100.o hamachi.o intel-gige.o myson803.o natsemi.o ns820.o
rtl8139.o starfire.o sundance.o tulip.o via-rhine.o winbond-840.o yellowfin.o
/lib/modules/2.4.18-6mdk/kernel/drivers//net/
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.18-6mdk/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/cb_shim.o
make: *** [install] Error 1
What should I do to solve this problem ?
What to do afterwards to configure my four NICs of this card ?
Thanks very much for your help.

Try downloading and compiling the driver with
mkdir /tmp/netdrivers/
cd /tmp/netdrivers/
ncftp ftp://ftp.scyld.com/pub/network/netdrivers.tgz
tar xfvz netdrivers.tgz
make
make install
I'm temporarily recommending this approach instead of the binary or
source RPM. Red Hat has several different kernels that are distributed
as being "7.2", and each requires different module versions.
