Hi,
I have a strange problem with my interface setup,
i am trying to get 3 D-Link DFE-570TX cards working in a
HP Netserver E800 machine. My System is SuSE Linux 7.2
on Kernel 2.4.12. The Tulip driver is compiled as module, my syslog
tells me the driver version is
"Linux Tulip driver version 0.9.15-pre7"
Also there is a "Intel Corporation 82557 [Ethernet Pro 100]" Card on board.
This is Interface is working ...
when i load my tulip module with "modprobe tulip" it seems everything is
working fine.
my ifconfig -a tells me there are these interfaces: eth0 - eth12 (eth0 is
the Ethernet Pro 100 Card)
so long so good, the i try to configure the interfaces with ifconfig.
"ifconfig eth1 192.168.2.254 broadcast 192.168.2.255 netmask 255.255.255.0
up"
then i see with lsmod that the tulip module is used 1 time
but when i do a '"ifconfig" for listing the interfaces, i see eth1 two times
in the list.
and the interface does not work ...
each time i set up the interfaces i also get a "clone" of it.
no matter if eth1 eth2 or anything, only eth0 works.
if i run the system with only 2 of the D-Link Cards,
everythink is working fine and i can setup eth1 - eth8 ...
maybe anyone can help me with this problem ...
best regards
