The Ethernet default is half duplex or autonegotiation.
The full_duplex setting is only for forcing full duplx. Setting the
parameter to '0' (the default) does not force the link to half duplex,
it just allows autonegotation to occur.
To set the link to a specific speed and duplex, use the transceiver
setting described at
