[tulip] hamachi,starfire, tulip on Alpha

I'm having problems with all three of these drivers on my
DS10 Alpha box.  Anytime I do a ping with any reasonable frequency,
say 1 46 byte packet every 10000 usec, the box crashes.

I get messages like:

eth4: something wicked happened

eth4: Too much work on interrupt, status=0x10000
eth4: Too much work on interrupt, status=0x20000
eth4: Too much work on interrupt, status=0x30000

over and over leading up to the crash.  The above even happens
with the GigE card where one 46 byte packet every 10000 usec isn't
that much bandwidth.

This is with the most up-to-date tulip and hamachi drivers.
