Driver problems with LNE100TX v4 (admtek comet)

I am having problems getting the tulip driver to recognise my card.

My machine: Dual Celeron 500s, 64mb, Rage Pro.

Under 2.3.99-pre6 (with SMP), it works fine, the tulip module comes up as an
"admtek comet". However, I haven't been able to get it working (with or without
SMP) in 2.0.36, 2.2.13, 2.2.15 or 2.3.51 (that's all I've tried).

I tried using tulip.c 0.91g, but that didn't help.

I would really rather not run 2.3.99-pre6.. so, can anyone suggest how I might
get the card to recognise under an earlier kernel?
