I too had problems with crossovers, except that I was attempting to force
full duplex.  Could never get it to work.  I just let autonegotiation take
care of itself and I get full duplex like I wanted.

We're also using these cards successfully (4 to a box), but with the
"v0.91g2" driver modified by Vojtech Pavlik to get round the problem of
transmits locking up on certain ports (curiously, sometimes on ports that
are not in use!).

We've also had some media autoconfiguration problems, but only when we've
used crossover cables direct to other 10/100 devices, so I suspect we have
only got ourselves to blame there....
