Ok, so I've been struggling with this Linksys card I've been
using. Here's the info from /proc/pci:
Bus 1, device 10, function 0:
Ethernet controller: LiteOn Unknown device (rev 37).
Vendor id=11ad. Device id=c115.
Medium devsel. Fast back-to-back capable. IRQ 3. Master Capable. Latency=64. Min Gnt=8.Max Lat=56.
I/O at 0xd800 [0xd801].
Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xff8ff800 [0xff8ff800].
Now, it works great when I use Linksys's version of the tulip driver,
but fails miserably when I use the standard driver from the 2.2.x
series. The problem ONLY occurs when the card is hooked up to my
switch (SOHOware auto-sensing 10/100 switch). My suspicion is that the
problem occurs when sensing/enabling full duplex (mostly because there
is no problem when I use the card to talk directly to my DSL modem).
I've looked at the source for Linksys's driver, and I've looked at the
kernel driver, and I have to tell you, it's not immediately clear to
me where the problem is. Of course, I've never looked at Linux's
network drivers before, so perhaps someone with more expertise can
enlighten me?
