Tulip (LiteOn) gives ontinuous "Transmit timed-out" messages

Hi-

 I've read the previous post with a similar title, but the updated drive
made my problem worse- it won't compile under 2.2.13.

 The suggested driver on the tulip page is:

"tulip.c:v0.91 4/14/99 becker@cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov\n"

 which is better then stock 2.2.13, but gives the error message:

   eth0: Transmit timed out, status e4260000, CSR12 40a1d0cc,
         resetting...

 every few seconds....


 also, /proc/pci

   Ethernet controller: LiteOn Unknown device (rev 37).
   Vendor id=11ad. Device id=c115.
   Medium devsel.  Fast back-to-back capable.  IRQ 12.  Master
     Capable.  Latency=64.  Min Gnt=8.Max Lat=56.
   I/O at 0xe000 [0xe001].
   Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xeb000000 [0xeb000000].

 
 When I download and build the new (2.3.x) driver
   ("tulip.c:v0.91u 10/15/99 becker@cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov\n")

I get hundreds of errors (its intended for 2.3.x, of course).

Help, please...
