Hello,

I´m a networkadministrator from germany.

We create a new network, based off fiber-optic-cabels.

We have the NIC`s from microsens from germany (www.microsens.de).

I have linux 2.2.10 and a NIC from Microsens with the media 100Base-Fx.

I have probed the adapter-Card with the module ´de4x5.o´ and with
´tulip.o´.

the module ´de4x5.o´ bring´s in my message-file the following messages:
kernel: eth3: DC21143 at 0xdc00 (PCI bus 0, device 11), h/w address
00:60:a7:00:20:9d,
kernel: and requires IRQ9 (provided by PCI BIOS).
kernel: de4x5.c:V0.544 1999/5/8 davies@maniac.ultranet.com
kernel: eth3: media is TP.

The NIC have also a entry in the /proc/interupts and /proc/ioports but
after an ifentry and an route-comand it works not.

the module ´tulip.o´ bring´s in my message-file the following messages:
kernel: tulip.c:v0.89H 5/23/98 becker@cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov
kernel: eth3: Digital DS21142/3 Tulip at 0xdc00, 00 60 a7 00 20 9d, IRQ
9.
kernel: eth3: EEPROM default media type Autosense.
kernel: eth3: Index #0 - Media MII (#11) described by a 21142 MII PHY
(3) block.
kernel: eth3: MII transceiver found at MDIO address 31, config 0000
status 780d.
kernel: eth3: Advertising 01e1 on PHY 31, previously advertising 00a1.

The NIC have only the entry ´dc00-dc7f : eth3´ in the /proc/ioports. In
the file /proc/interupts is no entry for tulip.
After the ifentry and an route-comand it works not!

I have compile und running the util tulip-diag. The message was
following:

> the following lines are the report from 'tulip-diag'
>

Can you help my by this problem?

Sorry for my bad english!

Thank you!
