libc6 and kernel 2.0.34

well, i finally was able to compile the tulip driver and "depmod -a" didn't
complain. i had to change the include path but perhaps it's due to the fact
that my box is debian while the instructions are for red hat?

unfortunately, i still can't use the card and dmesg returns

eth0: Changing PNIC configuration to half-duplex, CSR6 0042c000

what does it mean and what needs to be done to correct it? tia,
