hello, I have to NetGear FA310TX cards connected with patch cable between
my two pentium pros. I have one running linux and the other runs win98
and linux. But when ever I turn off my win98 box, I get these kernel
messages in my linux box:

Oct 5 00:53:38 Arenal kernel: eth1: No link beat on the MII interface,
status then 7809 now 7809.
Oct 5 00:54:38 Arenal kernel: eth1: No link beat on the MII interface,
status then 7809 now 7809.
Oct 5 00:55:38 Arenal kernel: eth1: No link beat on the MII interface,
status then 7809 now 7809.
Oct 5 00:56:38 Arenal kernel: eth1: No link beat on the MII interface,
status then 7809 now 7809.

that repeats every minute in my /var/log/message file. I tried turning
the debug option off by loading it up as a module. Nothing I have tried
will keep those messages from filling that file. Is their a way to keep
the kernel or whatever produces those messages to keep it from posting
those type of messages. I am using the tulip.c file that is packaged with
the 2.0.35 kernel
