hi all

thanks for the all the good suggestions, but it seems that the @home
server simply will not talk to my tulip card, regardless of any cabling,
module options, chipset register hackery, or other black magic attempted.
the autonegotiation just chokes, i can;t seem to override it, and the
link won't come up.

OTOH, it'll talk to an etherexpress pro/10+ no problem :-)
