Doug,
A couple of things:
1. A crossover cable should not work at all. You should not even get a
link. Something is seriously wrong.
2. The line errors are indicative of a mode mismatch between the switch and
the NIC. I suggest you "force" both sides of the link into full duplex
100Mbps.
3. The line errors are what ruined the throughput.
4. The NIC you sent to HQ worked fine under NT on every switch Foundry
makes, so I doubt it's the NIC hardware.
