The KNE100TX is a very standard card that uses a MII transceiver.  There is
nothing that should cause a problem with any driver version within the past
three years.

The mii-diag and the tulip-diag programs should help track down this
problem.  But I'm guessing that they are not available when the problem
occurs :-<.
