Hmmm, it appears that you are using a SIS900 NIC with a Realtek transceiver.

This list is for Realtek NICs.

Nothing seems really obscure in the sis900.c multicast filter setting
code -- it uses an older version of my example code.  The only thing I
disagree with is increasing the default value of the
multicast_filter_limit to 128.

Wow.  This looks horribly broken.  You have a major problems with
network errors.  Check your cables.
