[realtek] PCI problem on IBM Thinkpad

Hello,
I am having IBM Thinkpad i-1200 series laptop. I bought a PCI-Ethernet 10/100MBPS Lan Card (8239 chipset) and tried installing it on RedHat 7.1 
Whenever I insert this card, I keep getting the error:
Intializing Device.
Invalid PCI region size(s), aborting.

I tried to install realtek drivers but keep getting gcc errors such as :
Missing operand ";" etc.

Can anyone lemme know how to go around with this problem....
