[realtek] compiling rtl8139.c

Hi,

I'm trying to get a module for a rtl8139-like card on my Alpha. I've
tried compiling rtl8139.c, but get 'structure has no member named ...'
errors. With a little digging in the archive I found out that people
with a 2.4 kernel had the same problem and so they changed to the
8139too module. 

But I have a 2.2 kernel!
So 8139too doesn't work for me, so how do I cure this problem.
