[realtek] Problems compiling rtl8139.c !!!!

I'm running on Kernel 2.2.17 and i'm trying to compile rtl8139.c,
following all
the instructions that are in Using Linux Device Driver as Modules
(Comdevice Dri
ver Module) but i'm having a problem, file "modversions.h not found".
It says that when this happens to delete "-DMODVERSIONS" from the
command. I'm n
ot using this option (the command that's in the bottom of the driver
file doesn'
t use this option too) and it gives always the same message.
