Unresolved symbol(s) error message

Hi,

I just compiled and installed the rtl8139 driver.  I am running redhats5.2
linux and trying a new machine with no hardware manuals :(  The network
card is a realtek8139, but doesn't appear to show up to linux install
probing, so I thought this driver might do the trick.  However, it now
finds that the driver has "unresolved symbol(s)" and stops at that.  There
were no mention of problems at compile time, so I'm wondering where to go
from here.  Any suggestions?
